Kreen

Cunning. Impulsive. Resilient.

One of the first humanoid species to reach the stars, the Kreen built a large interstellar empire before the arrival of the Tarreen, in no small part due to their powerful immune systems and resistance to alien pathogens.  And unlike nearly all other civilizations, the Kreen Confederacy never surrendered. However, the Kreen people paid a high price for its defiance, losing many ships, worlds, and even technological developments during the long war.

The Kreen Confederacy remains a powerful independent government today, though nearly ten thousand Kreen agreed to join the Expansionary Fleet as part of a cultural exchange. The original settlers have colonized dozens of new worlds and have spread throughout many shared worlds in Dominion space.  Of all the species who accompanied the fleet, the Kreen may have experienced the most diverse range of outcomes: while many prosper on wealthy worlds, others live in squalor or bondage in the Borderlands or Driftward Worlds.

The Kreen are a clever, adventurous people who rarely back down from a challenge and live for new experiences. They are widely considered the most hedonistic species in the Cluster, a trait undoubtedly fostered by their near immunity to disease and infection. Powerful Kreen can be found in all walks of life, from the ruthless pirate and smuggling cartels in the Traverse to corporate boardrooms on the Golden Worlds.
